Nižné Matejkovo is a settlement of private cottages close to the main road from the city of Ružomberok to Banská Bystrica.
It is situated close to the settlement Podsuchá (Vyšné Matejkovo) at the entrance to the valley of Nižné Matejkovo and is a suitable starting point for the hikes to the Great Fatra mountains (Veľká Fatra) or to the Low Tatras (Salatín region).
