The tourist resort Krpáčovo is situated in a picturesque submontane region of Horehronie in Nízke Tatry (Low Tatras). In the centre of the resort there is a water reservoir, which is used for swimming in the summer. Krpáčovo has been a part of the National Park Low Tatras (NAPANT) since 1978. In a coniferous forest there are lots of hotels, pensions and private cottages.
Any visitor will certainly find here interesting spots or activities all year long. Meadows in the surroundings will bloom with numerous colours during the spring, autumn will satisfy any mushroom picker and skiers will enjoy the winter. Especially for skiers there are cross-country tracks, two modern ski lifts with artificial snow, Tatrapoma and two ski-lifts for beginners. Other ski-lifts are on the mountain Chopok - Srdiečko, Mýto pod Ďumbierom and in the village of Tále, where you can find also the first 18 holes golf course in Slovakia called „Gray bear“ (Sivý medveď).
Krpáčovo is situated very close to the Vajskovská Valley (Vajskovská dolina), which is one of the longest and most beautiful valleys in the micro-region of Chopok-south. Vajskovská Valley is only slightly touched by the civilization and therefore considered very romantic. Visitors can admire breathtaking waterfalls of the Vajskovský creek, unusual sceneries and wild hillsides of Skalka. An interesting attraction of Krpáčovo is the underground creek. 8 km far from the resort there is the Bystrianska Cave (Bystrianska jaskyňa).
